Brendan Walsh MA is an Archaeologist who was born and raised at the foot of Croagh Patrick. In 1995 he became interested in a story he had heard about since childhood when working as part of an archaeological team on the summit of one of the worlds most famous mountains
Bob of The Reek is a little known story from an area steeped in history which acts as a magnet not alone for Christian pilgrims but for archaeologists, photographers and historians. From a spot looking up at Bob’s cave , by a stream just yards from his home, Brendan relates the story he first published as an archaeological paper in 2005.

Great story, thanks much. Sad part of the tale, having to sell the bell to emigrate.
