Liz Mc Manus was born in Montreal Canada. Trained as an architect at University College Dublin. She first entered Irish politics in 1979 being elected to her local town council and later her county council,in 1992 she was elected to Dail Eireann and in 1994 became Minister of State in the Rainbow Government. She has won various awards for her short fiction. Her first novel ” Acts of Subversion ” was published in 1990. This is an extract from her second novel. Working title is “Disappeared”. this extract is included in The TCD anthology “A Thoroughly Good Blue”
