On this week’s Mayo’s Heritage we look at Country Living, Irish Livelihoods and Traditions – We start on Achill Island and learn about some of the past livelihoods, from shark fishing to amethyst mining! Then we take part of a tour of The National Museum of Country Life in Castlebar and learn about some of the traditions and attire of country life in Ireland. Your tourguides for this week’s show are Sculptor and the Director of the Customs House Art Studio in Westport John McHugh and Dr Anne O Dowd from the National Museum of Country Life.
