The Calendar Road April 2013

April hasn’t brought much of a change to the weather, it’s another cold walk for Sinéad as she takes a diversion off The Calendar Road to try to find some sanctuary in the forest.

It’s a very cold March along the Calendar Road, Sinéad braves the unseasonal weather to try and get the sound of some new visitors who have taken up residence in the pastureland. Hopefully you will hear them too, as the Easterly winds are vying for attention as well.

The Calendar Road February, 2013.

February brings a spring like feel to the road.  Sinéad investigates what animal might be digging holes all over the fields, and gardens on the Calendar Road and talks about Irish land mammals in the process.  It’s a cold, dry day, still and quiet except for the birdsong, perfect conditions for a leisurely stroll.

It’s been a windy, wet January and the wind is the topic on this months Calendar Road as Sinéad takes a walk to survey
the fields in the area and check for damage after overnight storms, she also talks about the worst storm in recent history, the Night of the Big Wind in January, 1839.
