In the first episode of our series of free Irish podcasts The Writer’s Passage, your guide is travel writer John Mulligan who retraces some of the steps he took which led him to write his book  ‘Following in the Footsteps of the Four Famous Flannerys’.   John takes us to Monasteraden in Sligo where the original journey began, from there we travel to Scramogue in County Roscommon and finish up this writer’s passage at Cloondara in County Longford.  We took one or two photographs (below) which we hope will enhance your journey but as usual, we hope you let your imagination paint the pictures of this wonderful pilgrimage.

The Writer’s Passage Photographs:

We arrived in Monasteraden on a foggy October morning to meet with John at Clooncunny bridge.

At Cloondara the fog had lifted and the reflections were terrific.
