Welcome to Kevin O’ Shea’s page at  Kevin was born in Dublin, 1952, son of a tailor-man. He teenaged to the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Christian Brothers and Shamrock Rovers supporters. Backed by a piece of paper endorsing him as an Electrical Engineer he spent his adult working life bringing power to the people with the Electricity Supply Board. He moved to Galway in 1984 for a six month stint and like many others he never left. He has two original daughters and  a step-son with his current wife. Having abandoned the world of technology he now stretches his imagination in Moycullen, plumb on the old Galway-Clifden railway line. He has yet to hear the ghost whistle of that last 1935 trail but is eternally hopeful. He likes nothing better than listening out on his daily walks in Kilrainey Woods with dogs and camera. A late bloomer in the poetry-fields he was short listed for Over The Edge New Writer of the Year  in both 2009 and 2010. He has been published in Irish Left Review, Ropes, Pen Tales, Northern Liberties Review, The Living Link and poetry anthologies Behind the Masks and Mosaic. In 2012 he was the winner of the Cúirt New Writing Prize, Poetry Award and his debut collection The Art of Non-Fishing is published by Doire Press.  Kevin sadly passed away unexpectedly in May 2014.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
