Miceál Kearney is a poet living in the West of Ireland whose work has been published in magazines and anthologies in Ireland, England and America. He was short listed for the 2007 Cinnamon Press poetry collection award and the Cinnamon Press Mini Poetry Competition 2011. He won the Cuisle 2006, Cúirt 2007; Baffle Bard 2007; North Beach Nights’ 2007 and The In-sight of Raftery 2008 poetry grand slams and read as part in Poetry Ireland’s Introduction Series in 2009.

Miceál has read his work in several countries around the world including: the Vilenica Festival in Slovenia; The Pulse Poetry Festival in Brighton; The Green Mill Room in Chicago; The Electric Picnic in 2008 and again in 2009 – sponsored by Poetry Ireland; The Fermoy International Poetry Festival; The Spirit of the Voice Festival, Galway; Clarenbridge Arts Festival; Mantua Arts Festival; The Volvo Ocean Race; The Forge Festival, The Electric Picnic Music Festival, Gort and The Patrick Kavanagh  Commemoration Day in Galway 2012.


Inheritance, Miceál’s debut poetry collection was published in May 2008 by Doire Press. He gives workshops in Performance Poetry called: Stand and Deliver. ’

 And has just finished his second collection; ‘Succession’.
